SEPE manages unemployment benefits. Outside Ceuta and Melilla, job-seeker registration is handled by the public employment service of the autonomous community; SEPE publishes the official directory of those services. For contributory unemployment benefit, register as a job seeker and then apply to SEPE within the applicable benefit clock—normally 15 working days after the last day worked, or after the equivalent period of paid unused holiday. Other situations can use a different starting date, so check the current benefit page and your own documents.
