NIE

NIE (Número de Identidad de Extranjero) is the personal foreigner-identification number used when a foreign national has dealings with Spain.

The Ministry of the Interior says the NIE is a personal, unique and exclusive identifier for foreign people who, for economic, professional, social or other reasons, deal with Spain.
